This test method covers the quantitative determination of residue after ignition at 550-600C using a rapid ash analyzer.
The ash content is an approximate measure of the mineral content and other inorganic matter in particulate wood fuels. Rapid ash analyzers offer an alternative to furnace ignition for determination of ash content. They are generally faster to use, and provide a wider range of information than furnace methods.
