    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: D02.L0.05 | Committee D02 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

1.1 This test method covers a procedure for evaluating adhesive wear resistance of dry solid film lubricants and other coatings that may exhibit improved frictional characteristics using the Ball on Three Disk Test Stand. This method can be used to rank dry solid film lubricants for relative wear rate under specified test conditions. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
