ASTM WK42479

Work Item: ASTM WK42479 - Revision of C918 / C918M - 07 Standard Test Method for Measuring Early-Age Compressive Strength and Projecting Later-Age Strength

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: C918 / C918M - 13

Developed by Subcommittee: C09.61 | Committee C09 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

In 2012, Practice C1768/C1768M was adopted as a replacement for Test Method C684. The new practice includes two methods for accelerated curing: the warm-water method (24-hr duration)and the autogenous curing method (48-hr duration). In Practice C1768/C1768M, it is stated that if accelerated curing is used in conjunction with Test Method C918/C918M, the temperature history of the instrumented companion specimens is to be recorded so that the maturity index at the time of strength testing can be determined. the purpose of this revision is to add reference to the Practice C1768/C1768M, as is appropriate. Other changes are proposed to bring the standard up to date.
