ASTM WK42229

    Revision of G8 - 96(2010) Standard Test Methods for Cathodic Disbonding of Pipeline Coatings

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: G8 - 96(2010)

    Developed by Subcommittee: D01.48 | Committee D01 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

    Need to revise the standard to better describe how the coating is removed prior to measuring the disbondment. Need to update how the disbondment is measured. Make other edits as needed to align all three ASTM test methods with each other (G8, G42, G95).

    ambient bonding; cathodic disbonding; pipeline coatings; Accelerated aging/testing--pipeline coatings; Breaks; Conductance and conductivity (electrical); Corrosion--electrodeposited coatings; Corrosion--pipeline coatings; Disbonding--cathodic; Electrical measurements--coating applications; Electrical stress; Holiday detection; Impressed current system; Instrumental measurement--paints/related coatings/materials; Insulating coating systems; Magnesium anodes; Pipeline coatings; Underground environments; Visual examination--pipeline coatings;
