ASTM WK42071

New Specification for ESTABLISHING AND MONITORING STRUCTURAL CAPACITIES OF STRUCTURAL INSULATED PANELS (SIPS)

    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: D07.0200 | Committee D07 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK42071

    1. Scope

This specification gives procedures for establishing, monitoring, and reevaluating structural capacities of structural insulated panels (SIPs). Capacities considered are shear, bearing, moment, stiffness, and axial load.

Existing standards for structural insulated panels are specific to end-use assemblies and use, such as walls, whereas the proposed standard addresses the characteristics of the SIP itself, independent of end-use, and provides a specification consistent with other engineered wood products.
