    1. Rationale

    To provide a more detailed description of test method application and revise existing test specimen drawing. a.The method fails to clarify whether one or all five cracks are measured. b.Guidance should better clarify the area of the non test area. c.The test method should define infiltration and exfiltration. d.The references to dimension lumber are not correct in the actual dimensions. e.The option to add water ingress testing using ASTM E331 or E547 could be added. f.Thermo-cycling of the test jig could also be added as an option as a measure of durability. g.Add SI units to Sect 3.1.5 h.Either the readability of the air flow measuring meter must be improved or the test specimen size must be enlarged since many current E283 test assemblies measure to only 0.01 cfm/Ft2 while foam sealants exhibit considerably less air permeance.
