ASTM WK41931

New Practice for Assessment of Temperature Sensor Measurement Drift and Minimum Immersion Depth

    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: D02.91 | Committee D02 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

Provide guidance in determining DCT probe immersion depth and monitoring temperature sensor or DCT measurement drift

The standard is needed to provide guidance to laboratory users on how to determine minimum immersion depth of a DCT probe to obtain an accurate temperature measurement. This need is driven in part by a lack of information provided with DCT probes regarding their minimum immersion depth. This standard will also provide guidance to users so they can develop procedures to monitor a DCTs measurement capability by checking the observed temperature against a reference.

DCT, RTD probe, PRT, Ice bath,
