1. Rationale

Concerning changes to 7.10.2.1 At the task group meeting the consensus of the group requested that we submit a ballot change to bring the attachment distances in compliance with the IRC and the IBC. Concerning changes to 7.10.1.2The spacing of framing members for the type and weight of metal plaster base used shall conform to the requirements of Table 3. Metal plaster bases shall be attached to framing member at not more than 7 in (178 mm) 6 in (152 mm) on center, along framing members except for 3/8-in (9.5 mm) rib metal lath that shall be attached at each rib. Attachment penetrations between the framing members shall be avoided (see A1.1). Rationale:At the task group meeting the consensus of the group requested that we submit a ballot change to bring the attachment distances in compliance with the IRC and the IBC.
