1. Rationale
We are adding some MIM terms from MPIF std 64, as agreed at the most recent meeting of the Subcommittee, and authorized by MPIF. We decided to add Brown Part, Solids Loading, and to replace the current definition of Master Alloy Powder in B243 with that from MPIF Std 64. We decided that since sinter is already defined in B243, we likely do not need to add sintering, as has been suggested. In addition, there is currently a definition for Binder that is slightly different between the two documents, and we need to discuss this one further at the next meeting. Therefore there are three new definitions to add, all as separate items to be considered individually. No other part of B243 is being balloted at this time. If additional revisions are needed to this document, please direct them separately to either the B09.01 Subcommittee Chair, Tony Thornton, or to the Committee B09 Staff Manager, Katerina Koperna, and this will be discussed as an item of new business at the next Subcommitee meeting, May 1, 2013.
