1. Rationale

The Standard was last approved in 2007 and is in jeopardy of being removed from use. ASTM C 88 and C127 were removed from the Referenced Documents section as they were replaced by D5240 and D6473 respectively in 2007. Method D5240s title was revised to reflect its balloted change in 2012. We are only balloting these revisions.
