1. Rationale
The term fabric stretch is redundant within Subcommittee D13.59 in that two different definitions for fabric stretch are found in D4850 Standard Terminology Relating to Fabrics and Fabric Test Methods. One definition of fabric stretch is found in D123 Standard Terminology Relating to Textiles. At the ASTM Committee Meetings in Jacksonville, Florida on January 29, 2013, members of Subcommittee D13.59 voted unanimously to adopt a revised definition for the term fabric stretch. Approval of this ballot will constitute approval to substitute the proposed new definition for fabric stretch into D4850 Standard Terminology Related to Fabrics and Fabric Test Methods and to editorially place it into Terminology D123.
