1. Scope
Identify the general characteristics of, and performance requirements for, equipment for butt fusion joining of thermoplastic piping systems.
A minimum standard is needed to insure the equipment selected can perform to the fusion standards used by that equipment. It needs to meet the clamping , facing, heating and joining requirement of the standard. Spec engineers and pipeline operators will have a minimum quality guideline to follow for new and used equipment before use in the field.
