ASTM WK40837

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK40837 - Reinstatement of C1583 / C1583M - 04e1 Standard Test Method for Tensile Strength of Concrete Surfaces and the Bond Strength or Tensile Strength of Concrete Repair and Overlay Materials by Direct Tension (Pull-off Method) (Withdrawn 2013)

Active Standard: C1583 / C1583M - 13

Developed by Subcommittee: C09.25 | Committee C09 Home | Contact Staff Manager

This test method was mistakenly allowed to expire and was subsequently withdrawn as a standard. Although withdrawn standards are made available as historical documents on the ASTM web site, there is a growing trend in engineering firms to not allow the use of withdrawn standards. This test method is regularly used as means of determining the adequacy of a substrate prior to repair with epoxy based materials and the quality of the repair itself. Subcommittee C09.25 strongly recommends the standard be reinstated.
