1. Rationale
Last modified in 2007, the D6824 method is still actively used in industry and therefore, according to ASTM bylaws, must be reviewed on a five year basis. A motion to review and update the test method where necessary was approved at the June 2012 meeting in San Francisco, CA. The Terminology section has been revised to comply with Form & Style, which required generation of a new Calculation section for the equations formerly in Terminology.
