1. Rationale
Sub Committee J04 D02 approved a ballot for the revision of ASTM D4308 Standard Test Method for Electrical Conductivity of Liquid Hydrocarbons by Precision Meter during the Dec 2012 meetings in Norfolk, VA. The reason for the ballot is to harmonize with D4306. Please note that the Section 8.3 wording shown on the following page was taken from D02 Ballot 12-05 Item 027 which recently passed with a voting record of 186 affirmative, 0 negative, 406 abstain, and no comments. The currently available on-line version of the specification (D4308-10) does not contain the updated wording.
