1. Rationale

The Form and Style manual allows for the placement of a symbols section in E456. The issue of which symbols to include has been discussed at several E11.70 sessions. However, there has been no consensus about this issue. The above items are those which appear in definitions in E456. There should be no disagreement that a symbols section should include such terms.
