WK40685 Revision of F606 - 11a Standard Test Methods for Determining the Mechanical Properties of Externally and Internally Threaded Fasteners, Washers, Direct Tension Indicators, and Rivets

1. Rationale

This ballot is being proposed to adequately clarify the question of the location of fracture during tensile/wedge tensile testing of externally threaded fasteners. Most notably, the current wording allows for fracture to occur in the shank for a hardened fastener.
