    1. Rationale

    While C 1702 and C109 address heat of hydration and compressive strength development of hydraulic cements without admixture, the results obtained can with minor modifications to the procedure in C 1702 and C109 also be used to predict the effect of admixture on compressive strength development. A procedure for estimating admixture effects on compressive strength development would be a useful addition to the Appendix in C1679.
