ASTM Test Method D434 Standard Test Method for Resistance to Slippage of Yarns in Woven Fabrics Using a Standard Seam is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee D13.59 on Fabric Test Methods, General. Members of D13.59 voted unanimously to reinstate D434 because it is still used throughout the textile industry. Precision and bias statements have been added as well as a note which allows the use of computerized software programs to determine slippage data. Once approved, the term in Section 3 will be removed to comply with the D13 terminology policy.
