1. Rationale

This Standard Test Method has been reviewed prior to submission for ballot for the five-year periodic re-approval. ISO 1517 has been withdrawn and replaced by ISO 9117-3. All references to ISO 1517 in clauses 1.2, 2.2 and 5.5 have been updated.
