ASTM WK40262

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK40262 - Revision of E1529 - 10 Standard Test Methods for Determining Effects of Large Hydrocarbon Pool Fires on Structural Members and Assemblies

Active Standard: E1529 - 10

Developed by Subcommittee: E05.11 | Committee E05 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

Section 14.6.3 includes a description of wet/freeze/thaw accelerated weathering exposure which specifies simulating rainfall at a rate of 0.7 inch per day. In UL 1709 Appendix A (from which the E1529 language originated),the simulated rainfall is specified at 0.7 inch per hour. It has been confirmed in the Dec 2012 Atlanta meeting that E1529 is incorrect.
