This standard is being balloted for withdrawal with no replacement.Following the ASTM meeting on November 13, 2012 in Atlanta, the Committee considered persuasive the negative votes proposed by Mr. Ron Zakrzewski and Mrs. Rebecca Wyss; hence, agree to withdraw B275 with no replacement. The main rational is that B275-05 is not helpful except as a historical reference. This standard is misleading and incomplete and only useful to help identify some old ASTM aluminum alloy and zinc alloy designations. The aluminum casting alloy table has some ASTM designations that never made it to the AA/ANSI/UNS level of acceptance. The magnesium committee has developed a new B951 standard which is up to date and should be considered the reference.Jerome Fourmann 01/03/2013
