WK40159 Revision of D2172 / D2172M - 11 Standard Test Methods for Quantitative Extraction of Bitumen From Bituminous Paving Mixtures

1. Rationale

Many users of this standard are running the procedure using toluene, which is not currently an approved solvent. AMRL is collecting data to determine if results obtained using toluene are similar to those obtained using the other solvents listed in the standard. If results are similar, toluene will be added to the list of solvents permitted for use in this standard.
