1. Rationale
Section 7.4 of Test Method E2248 refers to the use of EDM (Electric Discharge Machining) for machining the outside surfaces (notch included) of MCVN specimens. It is proposed to add a reference on the effect of EDM on MCVN test results, which has just been published in Journal of Testing and Evaluation (Vol. 41, Issue 1 - January 2013).
