1. Rationale
C1289 includes test method C1303 for Long Term Thermal Resistance (LTTR). In the current C1303 test method, it is required to prepare three types of slice stacks. In 2006, a ruggedness test program was initiated for C1303 to examine the influences of several test variables, most importantly stack composition, slice thickness and product homogeneity on the accuracy of the LTTR prediction. The objective for this revision is to change C1289 based on the conclusions and recommendations of the ruggedness test program.
