1. Rationale

ASTM A312 Lists a lower maximum Ni for 317 (14.0) than for 317L (15.0). I am unaware of any valid reason for this discrepancy and the difference can create issues with dual certification. The 14.0 maximum Ni value listed for 317 conflicts with the 15.0 maximum Ni in other ASTM Specifications such as ASTM A240. Suspect that the 14.0 listed is a typographical error from the line above.
