1. Rationale

New research presented at the D02.03 meeting in June, 2012 suggests that test precision could be compromised if instructions and observations listed in Notes 8,9,& 10 are not employed. This work item will incorporate instructions and observations listed in Notes 8,9,& 10 into the test Procedure as well as standardize heating cycles, with tolerances, to minimize potential bias in sulfated ash results.
