1. Rationale
Details of a suitable apparatus for shaking the sample were previously removed from the method, probably due to the unavailability of the apparatus. However details of the requirement are required. The original specification of the shaker and a check on the operation of an existing apparatus has shown that a shaker with an orbit of 1.9 mm is suitable for this test.
