1. Rationale
As agreed at the Spring 2012 meeting, C1696 would be balloted to have termonology and technical references in accordance with E5. The following information has been submitted by Dr. Marcelo M. Hirschler: I have developed proposed language for 5 recommended ballot items for revision of C1696, as I had promised at the April meeting. All of the revisions address issues associated with the fire performance of the insulations. The first 4 are editorial revisions to address the correct terminology and the 5th one is the complete revision of section 5.4, on Combustion Characteristics.
