1. Rationale
At the ASTM Committee Meetings in Jacksonville, Florida on January 29, 2013, members of D13.59 voted to revise Section 6 and Section 13 in terms of the type of illumination used in the apparatus for evaluation. The rationale for the change in illumination is data that shows no correlation between snag ratings and the type of illumination used or the color temperature of the illumination bulb. This change in illumination has already been made in ASTM D3939/D3939M Standard Test Method for Snagging Resistance of Fabrics (Mace)
