1. Rationale

Sub Committee J02 D02 approved a ballot for the revision of ASTM D D910 Standard Specification for Aviation Gasolines during the Dec 2011 meetings in New Orleans. Consistent with Subcommittee J decisions reached during the same event, this ballot replaces the maximum allowable concentration MAC for DCI 4A and DCI 6A in ASTM D910 section 6.3.4 Corrosion Inhibitor Additive Subsequent to the military requalification procedure MIL-PRF-25017 carried out in 2008, the maximum effective concentration of DCI 4A was changed to 24 g/m3 and for DCI 6A was changed to 15 g/m3. These changes were recorded in the Mil specifications and subsequently the approved additive treat rates were changed in ASTM D1655 and in Defense Standard 91 91. This ballot harmonizes the changes approved in the military specification, and in Aviation Turbine Fuel specifications, with the ASTM specifications for Aviation Gasoline. The updated approvals had already been incorporated into D7592-10 Standard Specification for Specification for Grade 94 Unleaded Aviation Gasoline Certification and for Test Fuel and D7719-11 Standard Specification for High Octane Unleaded Test Fuel
