    1. Rationale

    Rationale: The existing standard does not address instruction or rules signage. The task group had added the following to section 6. 6.5 The entry and loading area of a bumper boat pond should include instruction and rules signs visible from the main entrance to the queue line and other appropriate locations to enable all patrons to read rules and procedures of safe bumper boat operation. Rationale: The existing standard does not address loading zone area or surface. The task group had added the following to section 6. 6.6 Markings indicating loading zone Do Not Cross shall be clearly visible to patrons. 6.7 Dock surface should be constructed of a non slip surface. Rationale: The existing standard does not address how a bumper boat should be tethered to dock. The task group had added the following to section 6. 6.8 Bumper boats shall be secured with at least two devices which together can prevent rotation.
