1. Rationale
Regarding this proposed revision. The F2924 Task Group has proposed changing the classifications from Safety Critical, Performance Critical and No Requirement, to classifications based on thermal processing, which is more in line with wrought Ti 6-4. Minor changes include further clarification of recycling the feedstock and an allowance for mitigating the loss of aluminum during the electron beam melting process. Other minor changes make the standard more applicable to be used as a reference document by the FDA and ISO.
