ASTM WK39373

Revision of F2291 - 11 Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: F2291 - 14

Developed by Subcommittee: F24.24 | Committee F24 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

The latest version of ASTM 2291-11 was published with new instantaneous combined acceleration egg plots that were reshaped to allow for accelerations less than 200 ms to fall outside the allowable limits. When re-evaluating the center of the ellipse, it was determined that the boundary lines should be centered at a location that includes gravity. The proposed language and figures update the current language to re-center the limit curves with a center point that includes gravity. This update only applies to the combination curves that have Z direction accelerations.
