1. Rationale
A user has requested the addition of a new grade to A240/A240M. The new grade is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with the nominal composition of 26 Cr-17.5 Ni-0.2 N-La-Ce, and its expected application is for heat exchangers and components in fuel cell units, thermal power plants, and chemical plants up to temperatures of 1000C [1832F]. This concurrent action is being proposed for A480/A480M-12.
