During the ASTM Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana in December 2011, Subcommittee D02.A voted to review and, if warranted, modify D5797-07. A work group was formed to review the specification and prepare various editorial and technical revisions in order to prepare a Subcommittee D02.A Ballot. The revised specification being balloted revises the scope of the specification, removes several obsolete or unneeded test methods, adds a definition for hydrocarbon blendstock, adds ordering information, clarifies existing limits on the hydrocarbon portion of the blend, identifies and separates U.S. regulatory requirements, adds a workmanship section, revises Table 1, Requirements for Fuel Methanol (M70-M85), updates Table 2,Seasonal and Geographical Volatility Specifications for Methanol Fuel Blends, and clarifies that it uses data unadjusted for altitude, removes Annex 2, Test Method For Determination of Hydrocarbon/AliphaticEther Content of Fuel Methanol (M70-M85) for Spark-Ignition Engines, and makes other conforming modifications and updates.
