1. Scope 1.1 This practice provides a numerical procedure for determining standard loading constants that are referenced in current ASME pressure vessel design (Section VIII, Div. 1, App. 2). This practice utilizes data from ROTT tests to determine m and y values for gaskets specified in the design of bolted flange joints. The practice relates the values to a specific combination of internal pressure, gasket diameter, and leak tightness requirement.
