1. Rationale
An Interlaboratory Study (ILS 158-WK23046) was conducted to establish a precision statement for D2887-06a (Boiling Range Distribution of Petroleum Fractions by Gas Chromatography) in the Accelerated mode as is described in Appendix X6. This mode of operation results in a time savings of 50%. The samples used for the precision statement included Biodiesel Mixtures in the range from 5% to 20% (B5,B10 and B20). During the balloting of the appendix it was determined that a precision statement would be required. This study was funded by ASTM Resources under the designation of ILS 158.
