1. Rationale
The UNS (Uniform Numbering System) requires that each specific metal grade or alloy composition receive a unique UNS number. Previous changes to the composition specifications for certain alloys required that new UNS numbers be assigned, as reflected in this revision. New UNS numbers are underlined in red and obsolete numbers are crossed out in section 1.1 and Table 1.
