1. Rationale
Rationale: A large inter-laboratory study (ILS-628) was conducted in D.02.03 (Elemental Analysis) in 2010. In this study, D7220 tested 5 Kerosene (No1-K and No. 2-K-type) materials that included kerosene, Jet A and Jet/ 5 vol% biodiesel blends. 16 other fuels (spark ignition engine and No.2 fuel oil {diesel}) were also analyzed. The precision (r & R) obtained is shown in comparison to two commonly used D3699 test methods in the following Table 1.
