1. Rationale
The original submittal rationale for adding optional testing in off axixs orientation is as follows: Reinforcing fabric systems generally need to demonstrate a compatibility with the properties of the system being reinforced. This comes with an understanding that this compatibility may be influenced by such factors as stress orientation and elongation. It is therefore recommended that testing in off-axis orientations, such as +/- 45 degrees, be considered to verify suitability for applications where stresses are known to exist in orientations other than along the direction of the primary axes. Changes were agreed to at the last meeting in June and are attached to the standard for approval.
