1. Scope
This practice defines procedures for measuring the width of nonmetallic and metallic-coated steel sheet. Width is a significant quality characteristic of steel sheet products. The ability to accurately measure width using hand calipers is critical in determining if product meets specifications. The methods described are designed and intended for use in both laboratory and mill situations and their environments.
