1. Rationale

The current version of D4884 does not allow to test adhesive bonded seams. In order to permit adhesive bonded seams to be evaluated using ASTM D4884, a few revisions were made to the standard. These revisions do not affect the current procedure applicable to sewn or thermally bonded seams. A change in the title was also found to be necessary.
