1. Rationale

It has come to the attention of the Subcommittee that there is at least one additional source of silica gel that meets the specifications published in Test Method D1319. As such, and in accordance with ASTM policy regarding multiple sources of equipment or materials, the purpose of this ballot item is to remove the sole source footnote from the method.
