1. Rationale
The practices of A262 are routinely used for lot acceptance testing but are written as practices, not test methods. As a result, the committee has received reports of lack of agreement between laboratories. The current work is targeted at moving informational text to an appendix. Subsequent ballot items will revise the five test methods in order from Practice A, the etch test, through Practice F. This work will result in a complete re-write of this standard.
