ASTM WK38746

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK38746 - Revision of F876 - 10e1 Standard Specification for Crosslinked Polyethylene (PEX) Tubing

Active Standard: F876 - 13

Developed by Subcommittee: F17.26 | Committee F17 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

Within F876, the definition for crosslinked polyethylene plastics contains circular references, using plastics prepared by crosslinking (curing) polyethylene compounds. The CSA B137 Technical Committee and a task group within PPI BCD have agreed to a new, expanded definition with more explanation and without circular references. That definition will be proposed for F876, and if accepted, for F412.
