ASTM WK38550

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK38550 - Revision of C1012 / C1012M - 12 Standard Test Method for Length Change of Hydraulic-Cement Mortars Exposed to a Sulfate Solution

Active Standard: C1012 / C1012M - 13

Developed by Subcommittee: C01.29 | Committee C01 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

When preparing mortars as described in ASTM C1012 section 7, it has often been confusing as to what water cement ratio or flow is used in sample preparation. The addition of a pozzolan or slag to C150 cement to produce a manufactured C595 (blended or interground) may be interpreted differently than batching a C150 cement and blending it with C618 (Fly ash) or C989 (Slag Cement) products at concrete production facility. In order to clarify this issue, the procedure has been presented in a table format.
