1. Scope
The scope of this document is all waste created in manufacturing facilities. Such waste includes office waste, production waste, waste associated with storage, etc. Both hazardous and non-hazardous wastes are within scope. Waste associated with water going to sewers and energy is not considered.
There are no known documents to guide this work, which is becoming more prevalent in industry as companies assume more corporate responsibility. the lacking of definitions and methods creates confusion in the marketplace for those wishing to procure from responsible manufacturers and trying to make side-by-side comparisons in doing so.
