1. Rationale
Currently molds for compressive strength testing are stripped at either 24 or 72 hours after molding, but no provision is made for storing specimens at temperatures except in the moist cabinet or moist room. The proposed changes make provision for curing of specimens in saturated lime water at the temperatures used for the test 3 C [ 5 F] as well as at standard conditions as required in the existing Section 8.
