This standard is being balloted for withdrawal with no replacement because in committee sessions, it was agreed that the alloy has not been in commercial production anywhere (for medical applications or, indeed, for any applications) and that nobody knows of any medical or surgical device that has been commercially marketed in the USA or abroad.
